    About emotions

    What we mean by emotions

Helping men understand and express emotions, practical insights for men in Kent and across the UK. The pieces in this category are written for adult men in Canterbury, Kent and across the UK who are quietly trying to make sense of this part of their life without wanting to make a whole thing of it.

Every article has been drafted by a trauma-informed facilitator or partner practitioner and reviewed for tone and safeguarding before publishing. Nothing here is medical advice; nothing replaces therapy or your GP. It's peer education, honestly written, kept short where possible.

How to read the emotions pieces

There's no order. Skim the titles and read the one your body reacts to. Save the others for another week.

If a piece lands hard, the Feelings Library often gives language for whatever's just surfaced, and our Canterbury men's circle and walking group are open to newcomers if you'd like to keep the conversation off the page.

If you'd like more like this in your inbox, the MENd Together monthly newsletter is short, easy to unsubscribe from, and often points at the new pieces before they show up on the category page.

    Questions men often ask

    Are these articles evidence-based?
They draw on trauma-informed practice, polyvagal theory, IFS and what we see helping men in circle. Where a claim is contested, the article says so.
    Who writes them?
MENd Together facilitators and vetted partner practitioners — never AI-generated marketing copy.
    Can I request a topic?
Yes — email info@mendtogether.org with what you wish existed. We can't promise a piece will land, but requests do shape the editorial calendar.
What if I'm struggling right now?
Reading isn't the right first step in a crisis. In the UK call Samaritans on 116 123 any time, or 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger.
