Our promise
How we hold what men share with us
Trust is the whole job. This page sets out, in plain terms, the commitments behind every story and every quiet conversation on this site — and the human review loop that sits behind all of it.
Consent is the gate
A man's story only appears on this site when he has given explicit consent — anonymous by default, named only if he asked.
Anonymity by default
Every published story is rendered from an anonymised version. Identifying detail is stripped before anything is considered for publishing.
Human review on everything
Stories, content, outreach and site changes are reviewed by a real person before going live. Our internal tools suggest — they do not publish.
No invented proof
We never fabricate testimonials, outcomes, or numbers. If we haven't recorded it, we don't say it.
Honest signposting
If MENd isn't the right fit, we point a man calmly toward services that are — crisis, addiction, clinical, or community.
Survivor-led, never pressured
Nobody is asked to share, prove, or perform anything to be welcome. Listening is as valued as speaking.
The human review loop
What happens between sharing and publishing
Nothing on this site is auto-published. Here's the path every story walks before — and only if — it ever appears in public.
- 1
Story shared in confidence
A man uses the share-your-story flow. He chooses what kind of sharing he consents to — and can change his mind at any time.
- 2
Anonymisation pass
Before a human reviews it, the story is anonymised. Names, places and identifying details are removed or generalised.
- 3
Human review
A trained reviewer reads the story, checks for safeguarding concerns, and confirms consent is in place for the level of sharing being considered.
- 4
Deliberate publish
Only with matching consent on record can a story be marked published. We'd rather leave a story unpublished than risk getting this wrong.
- 5
Withdrawal honoured
If a man asks us to take his story down — at any time, for any reason — we do, without question.
The fuller picture
This page is the summary. The detailed safeguarding policy and the practical guide sit alongside it.
