Morning light through a quiet British woodland

    Step out. Reset. Reconnect.

    Men's Retreats

Time away with a group of men who get it. Outdoors, good food and real conversations.

    You don't have to speak.

    You won't be judged.

Some men just sit and listen.

You can take this at your own pace.

Two retreats are being planned. Dates for both are still provisional, so nothing is bookable yet, you can register your interest and we'll be in touch as soon as the details are confirmed. No payment and no commitment at this stage.

You can come on your own

You don't have to share everything

    You don't need retreat experience

You don't need to be in crisis

Take part at your own pace

    Why step away?

MENd retreats aren't only for men in crisis. Men come because life has become relentlessly busy, because work is grinding them down, because a relationship has changed, because fatherhood is harder than expected, because they're in recovery, because they want time to think, or because they're navigating a big change and want space away from routine.

Just as often, it's simpler than that, friendship, brotherhood, laughter, nature, a genuine challenge, or wanting a proper few days away with other men instead of a normal weekend. Not every man attending needs to identify with a struggle.

What actually happens on a men's retreat?

Each retreat is different, and the specific programme lives on its own page rather than here, but broadly, expect time outdoors, shared meals, conversation, some structure, activities where relevant, and real downtime. It isn't one fixed itinerary repeated every time.

Never been on a men's retreat before?

You don't need previous retreat experience, experience of men's groups, or a particular problem to solve. You don't need to be good at talking about feelings, disclose anything, or tell your life story. Most men who come haven't done anything like it before either.

    Coming on your own?

You can attend without bringing a friend or already knowing anybody. Part of the retreat is spending time alongside other men and letting connection develop naturally over the days you're there.

This isn't four days of sitting in a circle

Meaningful conversation may well be part of a MENd retreat, but it isn't the whole of it. Depending on the retreat, there's also activity, time outdoors, food, laughter, informal conversation, quiet, and plain ordinary time spent together. This is a retreat, not four continuous days of emotional disclosure.

    Your pace matters

MENd creates opportunities to take part, nobody is forced to disclose personal experience, and you keep choice over what you share. Safeguarding responsibilities still apply throughout, and confidentiality isn't absolute; see our safeguarding information for how that works.

    Who are MENd retreats for?

Men wanting connection, men needing time away, men navigating change, men rebuilding, men who feel stuck, men wanting adventure, and men simply wanting meaningful time with other men away from their normal routine. MENd's wider work includes men affected by trauma, addiction and mental-health challenges, but a retreat isn't only for men who identify with one of those experiences.

    What a MENd retreat is / isn't

It is: time away, connection, shared experience, conversation, activity, reflection, challenge, laughter, space, community.

It isn't: therapy, clinical treatment, a psychiatric or crisis service, forced disclosure, or somewhere you're told how to live your life.
