Two men having a grounded conversation outdoors

    MENd 1:1 Support

Sometimes you just need somewhere to talk.

MENd 1:1 Support gives men affordable, confidential one-to-one space to talk about what's happening, make sense of things and begin finding a way forward.

Sessions are 40 minutes and designed to make individual support accessible to men who might otherwise struggle with the cost of one-to-one support.

    See how it works

No judgement. No pressure to have everything figured out before you come.

    Somewhere to start

You don't need to wait until everything falls apart.

Men come to MENd for all sorts of reasons.

You might be dealing with a relationship ending, feeling isolated, rebuilding life after addiction, struggling with confidence, carrying something from your past, finding fatherhood difficult, feeling overwhelmed by work or simply knowing that something in your life needs to change.

You don't need a diagnosis. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong. And you don't need to arrive knowing what you want to talk about.

MENd 1:1 Support gives you somewhere to start.

    What can we talk about?

    Relationships and separation
    Loneliness and isolation
    Stress and overwhelm
    Confidence and self-worth
    Addiction and recovery
    Fatherhood and family life
    Past experiences and trauma
    Anger and difficult emotions
    Identity and direction
    Major life changes
    Building healthier relationships
    Feeling stuck or lost

This isn't a checklist. If something is affecting your life and you need somewhere to work through it, we can start there.

    How it works

    Simple support. No complicated process.

    01

    Start with a Welcome Call

Your first conversation is a free 20-minute Welcome Call. It's an opportunity to meet us, tell us a little about what's happening and decide together whether MENd 1:1 Support is the right place for you. There's no obligation to continue.

    02

    Your 40-minute sessions

If you decide to continue, you'll have focused 40-minute one-to-one sessions. There isn't a rigid programme or script. The conversation follows what matters to you and what you want to work on.

    03

    Find your next step

The aim isn't to keep men in support indefinitely. We'll look at what's changing, what you're learning about yourself and what might help next — independently, in MENd's wider community or with a specialist service where appropriate.

    Pricing

Support shouldn't be out of reach.

MENd Together exists to make meaningful support accessible to men, including those who may find the cost of traditional private one-to-one support difficult.

    6 × 40 minutes

    £120

    £20 per session

For men who want continuity and space to explore what's happening over a number of conversations.

Want to contribute more? If you can afford more than the £25 minimum for a single session, the additional contribution goes back into MENd Together and helps us make more support available to other men. It does not change the support you receive.

    Can't afford the sessions?

Money shouldn't automatically prevent someone from having somewhere to turn.

MENd Together aims to make fully funded places available when grants, partnerships and other funding allow us to do so. If cost is stopping you from accessing support, talk to us.

We can't promise that a funded place will always be immediately available, but we'll be honest about what support is currently available.

    Payment and cancellation

Payment is expected 48 hours before your session. You're free to cancel or postpone at any point up until then, with no penalty — just let us know. This gives us time to offer the slot to another man if you can no longer make it.

You don't need to perform here.

This isn't about somebody sitting opposite you telling you how to live your life.

You might spend a session talking through something that's happened that week. You might notice a pattern that keeps appearing in relationships. You might explore something you've carried for years. Or you might simply need somewhere to say things you've never felt able to say anywhere else.

We'll listen, ask questions, help you slow things down and support you to work out what feels right for you.

Some conversations may be challenging. Others might be practical. Some might involve laughter.

You remain in control of what you talk about and where the conversation goes.

    Six sessions. Your direction.

A framework, not a rigid course.

This is not a six-week course or a set of lessons. The sessions follow you and what matters in your life.

    Session 1

    Where are you now?

Understanding what's happening and what you'd like to be different.

    Sessions 2–5

    Work on what matters.

Explore what's underneath things, recognise patterns, build understanding and consider different ways forward.

    Session 6

    Where next?

Reflect on what's changed, what you've learned and what support or next steps might be useful from here.

Everyone's situation is different. These aren't six lessons you have to complete. They're simply a framework for giving the support some direction while keeping the conversation centred on you.

    Why 40 minutes?

MENd 1:1 sessions are intentionally focused. Forty minutes gives us enough time to properly explore what's happening while helping us keep the sessions accessible and affordable. It's focused support built around real conversations and what matters to you.

What MENd 1:1 Support is and isn't

    It is

    • A confidential space to talk
    • Trauma-informed support
    • Focused one-to-one conversations
    • A place to explore what's happening in your life
    • Support with recognising patterns
    • Space to consider possibilities and practical next steps
    • A potential bridge into community or other support

    It isn't

    • Therapy or counselling
    • A diagnostic service
    • Medical treatment
    • A crisis service
    • A replacement for specialist mental-health, addiction or medical treatment

    A private space to talk.

What you share in your sessions is treated with respect and confidentiality.

There are limited situations where we may need to act because of a serious safeguarding concern or immediate risk of significant harm.

We'll explain these boundaries clearly before your support begins so you know where you stand.

You don't have to do everything alone.

One-to-one support can be one part of finding your feet again.

MENd Together is building a community where men can find connection, support and opportunities to spend time alongside other men without having to pretend everything is fine.

Where appropriate, your 1:1 support can help you connect with current MENd Together activities and community support.

    Explore ways to connect

    Start with a conversation

You don't need to know what to say.

You don't need to prepare a story or explain everything perfectly. Tell us only what feels useful, and we'll respond about the next step. This is an enquiry rather than a confirmed booking; we won't show or promise appointment times until availability has been checked.

You don't need to share sensitive detail here. We can talk when we contact you.

We'll use your details only to respond and arrange support. Confidentiality has safeguarding limits where there is serious risk of harm. Read our privacy policy and safeguarding information.

40-minute sessions from £20 when booked as a pathway. Funded places may also be available.
