Can You Go to a Men's Retreat Alone?

Short answer: yes, easily, and it's more common than you'd think. Most men who come to a MENd retreat don't arrive already knowing anyone else there. That's not a workaround or an exception, it's close to the norm.

    Why This Is Actually Normal

Retreats work precisely because they bring together men who don't already know each other. Part of what makes the days valuable is that the connections form fresh, in that setting, rather than being an extension of an existing friendship group. If everyone already knew each other, it would be a different (and in some ways less useful) experience.

What the First Few Hours Actually Feel Like

A bit awkward, honestly, and that's true whether you arrive alone or with someone. Everyone is working out the same social terrain at the same time — where to put your bag, whether it's too soon to ask someone's name twice. It settles quickly, usually by the first shared meal.

Arriving alone doesn't mean you're expected to be the quiet one, or the one who has to work hardest to fit in.

You're Not Expected to Already Have a Role

Arriving alone doesn't mean you're expected to be the quiet one, or the one who has to work hardest to fit in. Everyone is starting from roughly the same place on day one, connection-wise.

    Safety

A confidential space, held with care.

    Steadiness

Move at your own pace, week by week.

    Growth

Quiet steps that build over time.

If You're Still Nervous About It

That's genuinely fine, and worth saying out loud rather than sitting with quietly — get in touch before you register interest if it would help to ask a question first. You don't need to have it all figured out to make contact.
