What it is
Once a month, on a Saturday morning, a small group of men meet to walk together in the Kent countryside around Canterbury. The pace is easy. The route is gentle. There's nothing to prepare and nothing to perform.
It isn't therapy. It isn't a crisis service. It's an honest, low-pressure way for men to be alongside other men for a couple of hours. Conversation tends to come more easily when you're walking side by side, looking ahead, with the weather on your face.
Some men come because sitting in a room feels too much. Some come because they're isolated and want a way back into connection. Some just want fresh air and a few hours away from the usual.
Side-by-side often feels easier than face-to-face. Walk in silence if that's what you need.
Who it's for
Men who feel isolated and want connection
Men who find face-to-face talking difficult
Men who prefer movement and nature to a meeting room
Men in recovery, or stabilising after a hard stretch
Men who want a low-pressure way to access support
Men who just want a few honest hours among other men
What to expect
Location shared in your confirmation email. Easy parking nearby. Arrive a few minutes early so we can welcome everyone.
Around 60 to 90 minutes on accessible paths. Steady pace. No one is left behind.
Conversations happen naturally, side by side. You can walk in silence, listen, or talk. All of it is welcome.
A short stop midway to breathe, take in the view, and check in with how the walk is landing.
Someone from MENd Together holds the space gently and quietly throughout the walk.
Back at the meeting point we close together, what you're taking away, what's next, anything you might need.

We warmly welcome men with lived experience of addiction and recovery. To keep the walk safe for everyone, we ask that participants attend sober and able to engage safely on the day.
