MENd Journal · Guides
Deeper guides on the things that take more than a five-minute read. Built to be saved and returned to.
What these guides are
Journal Guides are the pieces that don't fit in a five-minute read. Each one is a slow walk through a subject that keeps coming up in the men's circles we run — nervous system regulation, early recovery, rebuilding trust, learning to notice what you're actually feeling.
They're written to be printed, saved, returned to. Nothing here is meant to be consumed once and forgotten. The men who use these well tend to keep a folder of the two or three that hit hardest and revisit them every few months.
Every guide is drafted by a facilitator who works face-to-face with men in Canterbury, then reviewed by another practitioner for safeguarding and tone. Where a topic sits close to clinical territory (trauma, addiction, suicidal thinking) the guide names the limits of peer support clearly and points at the right professional door.
The prompts inside them are the same prompts we use in circle. If you want to work through one alongside another man, the walking group in Canterbury and the Recovery Hub online are both good places to bring them.
